Freezer

I somehow forgot to tell about the freezer.
Cap'n Carey has been struggling with the refrigerator, or lack there of. Last year, when the cap'n brought the refrigerator to the barn, and did all the everything to it, well that was when we figured out which freezer to put in it, so that is the shape of the inside of fridge, to fit this awesome new freezer, we can make ice =], the rum pours nicely over ice.
It went in pretty easy, right Cap'n ?? He ran everything thru the fridge, and piled it all in the 'sink' hole. which it has 2 drawers, that hold spatulas etc. The drawers are kinda quirky, the stick, then get stuck, then ya can't get it to open, but in all good time. We have to concentrate on getting her in the water, then we can finish all the inside projects. We had to get the fridge early cuz the old one croaked, then got fixed, then broke, fixed, and then died. So we ordered the freezer, and v'whahla!!We have ice!!! we have no food thats gunna spoil, we can eat what we want, not whats gunna go bad if it gets wet, from ice, in a cooler, that we really don't have the room right now, with the construction goin on an all.

Elevator

We have been sanding an grinding etc. for the last month. The Cap'n has been helping me know what to do, so we are expecting rain so he asked me to put 2 pieces of tape over the holes on the starboard cap rail to keep the water out. So when he got home and saw the tape, he started to laugh and shake his head. I still don't know what the difference of his, and my idea of 2 pieces of tape.
This pic of the kiddz, they are waiting for the puppy elevator to bring them up. Busy, busy, busy.

Months End

It sure doesn't feel like a whole month is ending. We sure have been workin' our buh tooteez off every chance we get. The wind has caused delays, it gets rippin' over the levee. So the first time it tipped me, I gathered all the tools, and went below.
I have found that one of the hardest jobs comes on laundry day. Everything finally starts fitting in the drawers, you can actually get your hand in between the hanging clothes, and then you do laundry, and nothing fits again.
Sailor and Roxi have settled in, Roxi has gotten to like the dinghy setting forward over the front hatch, she likes laying on top of the hatch. Sailor has figured out that when you set your ball down, it more than likely will roll somewhere and then ya gotta go get it again.

Nameless

We did the Un~Naming Ceremony yesterday at sun~set. What an awesome feeling. We are wiping the slate clean, and jumping in both feet first.
We have gotten soo much done in the last week. I have the Aft cap rail to do, and it's right over the hole the Cap'n dug this weekend for the rudder to drop into, so he can get the bottom built back up, and, ya know the rest, scrape, grind, filler stuff, grind, fill, , , So I'm mostly done with the cap rail, and I just found out that the rub rails bottom, is going to be painted to soo, , , .
The Ceremony was moved forward in order to be able to bring Cerridwens papers aboard, and all the other things. We have been having a time deciding where we should 'hail' from, any ideas??   bunkmate

Cerridwen

I have alot of people ask me what Cerridwen means, and truthfully I knew the story, but I had no short version, , , so here ya go, ,
short version,     Cerridwen
Cerridwen ("White Sow" or "White Crafty One") is a Welsh Goddess of magic and transformation, Who keeps the cauldron of inspiration. Her son Afagddu was so horribly ugly She set to making a brew of wisdom for him, to give him a quality that could perhaps overcome his ugliness. Every day for a year and a day She added herbs at the precise astrological times, but on the day it was ready the three magical drops fell instead on the servant boy, Gwion Bach, who was set to watch the fire. Instantly becoming a great magician, the boy fled from Her wrath, and as She pursued him they each changed shape--a hound following a rabbit, an otter chasing a salmon, a hawk flying after a sparrow--until finally the boy changed to a kernel of wheat, settling into a pile of grain on a threshing-floor. Cerridwen, becoming a black hen, found him out and swallowed him down.
Nine months later she gave birth to Taliesin, who would be the greatest of all bards.
Cerridwen signifies inspiration from an unexpected corner. Plans may go awry; projects may change. Do not be too quick to hold a project to its course ~  instead let it take its shape as it will.

boom chakuh lokka boom

As of this coming weekend, Cerridwen will be ours. Our responsibility, our destiny, our freedom, our dream come true. Let the games begin!!!!
The freezer finally got here, the cap'n is hard at work finishing putting it in. It fits perfect. I can feel the cool air from the fan, and it is cooling the ice box fantastically. We put everything inside, and the fan is running, and it shuts off and starts again. It feels pretty cold in there.
I have the trim all the way around the boat, sanded~ing, chipping, the top of the rub rail on the outside, almost ready to start revarnishing the teak, the layers, and layers, like Ogres, and onions. We are also doing the sheerline, the stripe above the rubrail, blue.

Un~naming

Ya know, we have spent all this time getting ready to go on adventures with Cerridwen, when we are spending all this time with Reunion. We have started removing all things that say Reunion, including removing her name on the aft, both sides. It's not so easy to rub it off with water and wet sand paper. But like everything else, It's gotta be worth it. Right?? We will be doing the un~naming ceremony before she goes in the water. But not sure when we will be doing the re~naming ceremony. Hopefully as she goes in the water. We need some champaign.

Benicia??

Last sunday we got a break in the weather so we decided to go marina hopping. We chose the Benicia Marina. We are hoping that they still have 2 live aboard slips available. If we have our choice, and the slip is still available, we are shooting for slip #59 or #84. #59 is towards the tip of the dock, and #84 is a wider entrance, and they both are nose in to the prevailing wind. We need to get our butts in gear, get in the water, and on to the next leg of our adventure. So we can slow down and enjoy this cruising life.
Next weekend is the S.F. boat show. We are debating on if we should go, or stay and work on her. If we do go, it will only be Saturday, so we can go to the after party. Our party buddies that we hooked up with for the last couple of years is on their way to Tahiti right now. You can check them out at;  svsosiego.com
We hope to run into them sometime in the near future.
