We purchased our Fantasia 35, Hull # 58 Reunion in Alameda CA in 2012. She had been purchased from the previous owner in 2005 from somewhere on the California Delta (Isleton we think), where she was a live-a-board boat. We don't know how long they had her, or her history beyond that, but she was in definite need of updating and attention from what we understand. She was apparently more of a home than a boat at this point so many systems needed help. He made many upgrades to her including a hardtop dodger, dinghy davits, replaced all portholes with SS opening ports, current electronics, and some interior bits.
We have much more extensive cruising plans, so we have began a much more elaborate refit and upgrade to bring her up to seaworthy standards. Some of the many "complete tear out and re-build" areas are the head, galley, stock fuel tanks, and battery system. The mast will be dropped and stripped painted, rebuilt, and all new standing rigging installed. The deck will be almost completely stripped, painted, and all hardware replaced or repaired, and re-bedded. I will go into more detailed descriptions and posts for many of the projects in "The Refit" section under "Our Boat", as they progress.
