First Coat Of Cetol On

All the sanding that has been going on around here and I finally got to put on the first coat of Cetol. It turned out pretty good. Everything went pretty smooth, the only thing that went wrong was I forgot to tape the gates to the cockpit, which is kinda hard to do with rubber gloves, it was pretty funny actually. As soon as I got the tape in place, and went to pull my hand away, the tape popped off, stuck to my glove. It took longer to put that little bit of tape on, than it did to tape up the windows of the cabin. First coat on, and in the morning I will put another coat on. I believe I only have to put on 3 or 4 coats, this time. There were some spots you could tell haven't been sanded in a long time. They just kept on putting coats on.
The Cetol is a varnish alternative, that actually has color to it. We will put a couple of coats of the natural teak colored Cetol on, then a couple of coats of clear Cetol. The hand rails on the forward deck need to be completely sanded down to the wood (like we did to the rest of the teak), and done the same as we did to the rest of the boat. We will be doing that when we are not on a time schedule, as we are now. We have to get in the water!!!
We were going to be going in the water after we finished the bottom, then we found out we can't do any sanding in the water, so we buckled down, and now the top is done too.The inside of the hatches will be done from the inside.
We are the proud owners of Cerridwen. Now every penny we make goes into her. Finally everything is falling into place. We have a man coming out, as soon as we hit the water, to clean the fuel. After sitting for awhile, not moving around, the crud gets settled to the bottom, and then sucked up into the filter, and gets all clogged and causes some bad stuff to happen to the motor, and we don't want that to happen. That will take all the funds that we don't have, to fix, and the time that we want to do stuff will be put off, etc. . .

Hopefully we will be getting in the water pretty soon, so we can get on with all the exciting things that we are planning on experiencing.
